Desert Trip

We just returned from a quick trip to the desert. We decided getting away for a few days sounded relaxing, and with my work starting to pick up, we knew that this might be our last chance for a while. We stayed a couple of nights at the Summer Lake Inn (http://www.summerlakeinn.com/). This is just south of Silver Lake, and North of Paisely. The day we arrived it was VERY windy. This kept us inside with warm soup, books, and movies. However, the next day was calmer, and we ventured out. We drove down through the Hart Mt. Antelope Refuge, and did a little bit of hiking. We saw 12 coyotes, 80 Antelope, 50-60 deer, and too many hawks and eagles to count.

The next day we went on to Klamath Falls. It was a very sunny, beautiful day. I lived in K. Falls for a year about 9 years ago, so it was fun to tour around and see how the place has changed. I showed Amy and Bryant my old apartment, my old school (OIT), and the Laundromat that I used to frequent. All were impressed and amazed.

Today we had a leisurely morning making our way back from K. Falls. After stopping for overpriced coffee, and under priced egg McMuffins we made the 3 hour drive back home with only one stop to feed Bryant. He did great the entire trip. He even seemed to enjoy his view out the rear window of the truck, watching the world go by. Here he is after one of our numerous stops for a feeding.

This last picture is our view outside the Summer Lake Inn. This was a fun, rustic place to stay. No cell service, or TV reception. A good place to enjoy the outdoors and catch up on some reading. Probably could have been a little cleaner, but we are hoping we caught them on a bad day, and neither one of us had the nerve to complain about it.
