Last week Amy's mom Karen came over to our neck of the woods to spend a few days with Bryant. She came to witness the coos, smiles, and sneezes that only a grandparent could appreciate.

While she was here, Amy and I went out on our first childless date in several months. We had burgers at Deschutes Brewery followed by some glow in the dark cosmic bowling where I graciously let her win. I find that if you let your spouse win at the meaningless sports such as bowling, (is it even a sport?) it does great things for their self esteem and well being. For instance, Amy couldn't quit talking about her narrow victory for days. Anyways, I hope she doesn't take up golf.

Save meaningless games of bowling, life is pretty good here in Sisters. The first picture is the view out our living room window. OK, not really, but I did have to slam on the brakes to let this herd of elk cross the road a couple of mornings ago.

New Kitty

Well, I realize most of you glance at this site to see glimpses of Bryant, but I couldn't help post a couple of hunting pics. However, as you can see, Bryant was quite helpful in the field, and fond of the new kitty "bob."

This is the first bobcat I've ever harvested.

Grandpa

Last weekend we lost Grandpa Davis. This was a mixed blessing as his health has been deteriorating for several years now. We are happy he has moved on, and is no longer in pain. But he will be missed! It is always hard to say goodbye to a close member of your family, even if the time seemed right. Over the years I have had countless people tell me about how Grandpa had a very meaningful impact on their lives. Often these people were associated with Camp Yamhill, or Hazel Dell Church. Both were places Grandpa volunteered much time and sweat.
I am glad Grandpa got to briefly meet Bryant last December. I will look forward to telling Bryant about his Great-Grandpa someday.
Here are a few of the latest pics for his "fans." Hope they make you smile.
